Jonathan Yardley has been covering high school ice hockey in New Jersey since 1996. A native of Morristown and a Delbarton alumnus, he graduated from Rice University in Houston, Texas in 2005 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in history and English. While at Rice, he served two years as sports editor and one year as co-editor in chief of The Rice Thresher, the weekly student newspaper. He also worked as a radio broadcaster for the Rice baseball team, the 2003 NCAA College World Series champions. Yardley spent the 2005 professional baseball season broadcasting for the Yakima (Wa.) Bears, class-A affiliate of the Arizona Diamondbacks. He spent the 2006 baseball season broadcasting for the United League Baseball champion Alexandria (La.) Aces, an independent minor league baseball team. He currently works for the Houston Dynamo, a Major League Soccer team.

He grew up watching hockey at Mennen Arena and for five seasons (1996-97 to 2000-01) wrote a weekly newsletter and ran the webpage for the MCSSIHL, the Morris County high school league. He now writes for Hockey Night in Boston in addition to website and blog maintenance.

This site is a resource for high school hockey fans from the whole state and is the only place to find standings for every league in the state of New Jersey. Donations can be made via the following link: donations.
